NAVIGATING DIFFICULT DIALOGUES
This 2D explainer piece is made for NYU CMEP, created with the help of CMEP education team and communications team, this animation tackles the responses that a person might feel when leading a difficult conversation.

It was challenging yet fun to narrate an abstract topic with mostly graphics that are clear and effective, on-brand with NYU CMEP, and also while keeping it engaging. I chose to do this by creating a metaphor of zooming into the mind to reveal emotions that a person may feel during a tough conversation. This way, a complicated concept that may seem intimidating can be simplified into something more digestible and approachable for people to understand.
Stylistically, I also wanted to create a distinct color palette to keep graphics consistent and visually appealing.

I chose this particular infographic to work with because each slide is packed with words and information. I thought that such an important yet difficult topic has the potential to be more digestible and captivating through a motion explainer.

Character Design

I paid special attention to the character design as it's important to promote diversity and inclusivity and not impose bias. I wanted to avoid gender and racial assumptions by using non-skin tone colors, stylized features, and hair design that is adaptable for any gender or race.
